In my divorce I let my wife take the majority of the furniture, she picked it out in the first place and I was never that big of a fan of it anyway. I had gotten some cheap stuff as a temporary replacement but after building the rest of my home theater I really wanted that finishing touch to really finish it off and I bought myself a pair of Berkline 094 home theater recliners.

You have two choices when you order Berkline recliners, you can either get wedge shaped arms or straight arms. Seeing how I only got two chairs and my room isn’t very large I went with straight arms. If I had a larger room and was getting a row of say 4 chairs I would probably have gone with the wedge shaped arms. You also have the choice of several different materials for your Berkline’s when you order. You can get microfiber, several different leather options. I went with an all over leather option and I chose black as my color. You can also choose between a motorized recliner or a manual. I sprung for the motorized and it sure is nice, it makes adjusting to that perfect angle effortless. The seats also are equipped with cup holders, there was an option to get lighted cupholders but I passed on that, seemed a bit silly to me.

Berkline is the premiere home theater recliner manufacturer and it’s easy to see why. The Berkline’s are extremely comfortable and very well made. The leather used is soft and supple yet also very durable. The added cupholders sure are very handy and adds to the whole movie theater experience. The arm rests also double as a storage place which is great for keeping your remotes, TV guide and stuff. Another aspect of the Berkline’s that I really appreciate is that you can place them very close to the wall and still recline. My home theater room isn’t all that big so this allows me to push the chairs almost all the way back against the wall and I am still able to recline, it’s a very clever design and works very well.
